Maternity photos
So I had a good friend take some maternity photos of me on Monday. I know when we have more kids this will be difficult or impossible to do, so I just wanted to have some photos to look back on my pregnancy. I think I had them done just in time too, because my feet have started swelling over the last few days. I posted just a few of my favorites. I think she did an amazing job!

36 weeks

36 weeks

Well, as of Tuesday I am 36 weeks along. Everything still looks good. My doc still says Benjamin should be between 7 and 7 1/2 lbs. I have lost my mucous plug I am 1 cm dilated, which doesn't mean I'll be going into labor soon (you can be dilated for weeks before you deliver) but it does mean that my boy is making progress and getting into position to do what God has created him to do. it's like Jonathan said, even though you know that eventually the doctor will tell you you're starting to dilate, hearing the words is both exciting and surreal. Benjamin's head is VERY low--my doc was able to touch the top of his head. He has still been pretty active, but I can tell he's running out of room, because when I sit down he puts his feet against my ribs and just pushes. Anyway, everything's just a waiting game now, so I'll keep updating as new things happen.

Our sweet boy
I have a friend who is an ultrasound tech and she offered to meet me and do a scan on Benjamin for fun. So we met up last night and got these beautiful pics of our precious baby boy. According to his measurements he is somewhere around 5 1/2 lbs. We got lots of pics of his face and little cheeks but I just like looking at him. He is head down and his head is already low in my pelvis. During the scan he was sucking his thumb and making little sucking movements with his lips. It was adorable. As you can see in one of the pics, he has hair on the back of his head. So all this heartburn has paid off.

long time no write
So it's been way too long! I am going to attempt to bring my blog up to date at least with pictures. Benjamin's arrival is quickly drawing closer and we are getting so excited. We used to think we had a decent sized house until we started filling it with baby stuff. So I am at 34 1/2 weeks and at my last doctor appt she said everything looked great and my levels were great and weight gain looked good (I have gained 21 lbs) and with the way everything is going she expects me to have an easy labor and easy time breastfeeding. Praise the Lord! But even now as i feel his little hiccups in my belly I realize that in a few short weeks that will be over. It kinda makes me sad. But in the same breath i can't wait to kiss the little feet that keep kicking me.

Baby Benjamin
Okay, so I'm a bad blogger. Sorry to all who havebeen waiting for me to post again. For awhile it seemed like I didn't have anything new to say but I definitely do now.
I am 19 weeks pregnant, and we found out Monday that It's A Boy! Jonathan and I were thrilled, since be both wanted to have a boy first. His name is Benjamin Hayes Golloher. He was so precious during the ultrasound. He kept touching his face and sucking his thumb and then started playing with his feet. I am so in love. It's like I share an even deeper bond with him now. I haven't felt any definite kicks yet but I have felt several little flutters that I think he is causing. Just this week I feel like my baby bump is starting to show a little bit.
I've been feeling pretty good lately. The nausea is pretty much gone, and I'm getting more of my energy back. I have noticed, however, that my body tells me when it's read to go to sleep. I have fallen asleep while sitting on the couch several nights lately.
We have bought a few pieces of clothing for Benjamin lately, but I am trying to restrain myself. Instead, we are stocking up on diapers.
I have a few pics to share with you. I will post a recent belly pic in a few days though.

I'm Pregnant!
I'd like to begin this blog by saying to all my friends and family who have been anxiously waiting for me to start blogging--I'm sorry it took me so long to get going.
So just to bring everyone up to speed, I am now 12 weeks pregnant. Jonathan and I were very blessed to become pregnant after only a few months of trying, and are so excited about welcoming our new baby into the world.
I have so much to thank God for, because so far this pregnancy has been pretty easy for the most part. Aside from being extremely tired, I have felt pretty good overall. I was only consistently nauseous for a couple of weeks (mostly while I was on an antibiotic to prevent a potential UTI, and the meds made me pretty queasy.) Certain smells and foods sometimes cause the queasies but other than that I've been doing well.
I had my 12 week appt last Monday, and my doc says I'm right on track. She said all my bloodwork looked good, we heard the baby's heartbeat with the doppler, and I've lost two lbs. since becoming pregnant. (My clothes are definitely fitting tighter around my midsection, despite the weight loss, though.)
The most annoying pregnancy sympton I've had has been tingling in my hands and feet. My doc says it's most probable cause is my profession, so I've been tryin to put my feet up at every available opportunity.
Jonathan and I are counting down the days till we find out what we're having, which won't be for another 6 to 8 weeks. We have been scouring baby name books and websites, and keeping our ears open to names we hear day to day that we like. Naming a child is such a huge responsibility, I think. To this day I cannot think of any other name i would like to have for my own name, and Jonathan has said he feels the same way about his name. I only hope that our child will one day say that about his/her name. So I guess I said all that to say we're putting serious thought into this.
I have a few pictures to share with you. I have not had Jonathan take a 12 week picture yet but I will post one this week.
Thanks to all my friends and family who are so loving and supportive of us. I love you all.

My first positive test
I dyed an Easter egg for our baby (I had one for each member of our family, including Max, but Jonathan got to the eggs before I did and ate his since it had his name on it. Oops!)
